Shakti Naam yoga is a merging of science and mantra, or sacred sound, through Sukshma Vyayama, the ancient Himalayan yogic practice known as the "yoga of immortality." Working with the body's subtle energetic or meridian system, consciously integrated with breath, mudra and mantra meditation, Shakti Naam is an invaluable self-healing technology that balances the brain, glandular, digestive, immune and nervous systems--the entire body--for optimal well-being, while activating the shakti within. Shakti is the creative and vital energy of the Universe, also referred to as Kundalini energy, ki, chi, Holy Spirit, Quetzalcoatl, etc. ;) Naam means "Name" or "Word" and is a practice of sacred mantras that invoke Universal Life Force Energy. Shakti Naam is a yogic practice that safely opens the heart center to bring your body in alignment with your highest self for divine living.

The voice is the sound of the soul. Freeing the vibrational force of the voice through the body allows your whole being to move into a creative expression of soulful authenticity and meaning. Using the voice in optimal alignment of the body for singing and sounding strengthens the body's self-healing mechanism, the immune system, and magnetizes your being. My Vocal Yoga sessions target the anatomy of the voice with techniques combining the principles and practices of yoga, pranayama, mantra meditation, sound healing and Fitzmaurice Voicework. In this constructive yet restorative practice I use tuning forks, crystals, instruments and plant essences as guides to deepen your relationship with your voice for vocal freedom, authentic sound and expression. This class is especially beneficial for actors, singers, teachers, or anyone seeking greater vocal control for speaking or singing.
I signed up for Jenny Cho’s Vocal Yoga class initially because I never heard the words vocal and yoga together and thought, this is going to be awesome! It was so awesome and empowering! The different stretches and singing exercises were a unique way to get in-touch with the human instrument. It was fresh, fun and a heart opening form of expression. Jenny is a joy and I found her class light, silly and deeply profound, I highly recommend it.

Jenny’s vocal yoga class is a dynamic way to uncover hidden blocks and remove stress. I have done various forms of yoga and sound therapy but never in this specific combination. After just one class I noticed immediate shifts of healing and changes in my body. I am eternally grateful for my experience and cannot wait to go back!

I had never done vocal yoga before and Jenny Cho’s amazing class was a great way to be introduced.
Her dedication was obvious and she led the class with a sweet and healing charm. In general I found the vocalization a very natural way to relieve stress along with the poses. My favorite part of the class was the tuning fork which Jenny would place on various parts of the body to emphasize your inner vibrations as you sing a note. Also the tremor exercise was great too. Overall I left the class feeling like I had let go of a lot of tension in my body. Thanks Jenny : )
